O’Neill rider Jordy Smith has been having some fun down at Lennox Head in Australia. Jordy is down there on a Red Bull training camp called Project Air.
The goal of the camp is to get the rider’s air techniques analysed and improved through a process of ‘air conditioning’ and repetitive training on the massive ramp. Try a move on the ramp over and over, then take it to the waves and try and emulate the skate move on the waves. There have already been some big moves pulled off by the surfers and there is more to come.
Red Bull rider Sally Fitsgibbons has been taking her skate-based moves to the waves, and Jordy has been busting some big moves (and some boards) as well. Julian Wilson is there, along with world champion Mick Fanning, so it will be great to see the final results of the camp. Hard core training and some big moves. Watch this space.
